Ocean Habitat for Humanity is currently part of the national movement to enable seniors to age with dignity in a safer/healthier home. As part this holistic approach Northern Ocean Habitat brings the spirit of community into the senior’s homes through volunteerism. Since 2010 North Ocean Habitat for Humanity has been committed to building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. With a clear vision that everyone deserves a safe, healthy home Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity expanded their Neighborhood Revitalization program to include Aging in Place; a holistic approach to provide seniors with housing repairs while connecting them to resources and services in their community. Repairs include interior modifications such as widening doorways and/or stairways for handicap accessibility, bathroom modifications, window repairs and/or replacements, roof repairs, building handicap ramps and installing working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
