Senior Outreach Services of Plumsted Township (SOS) is a totally volunteer organization that provides area transportation to qualified clients for medical appointments, grocery shopping and necessary items. Seniors are connected with available services on local, county, state and federal levels, and referrals are made to appropriate agencies and programs. Monthly community session heightens awareness of resources available to seniors and the disabled, and provide education as well as socialization and rerfreshments. SOS is a supporter of the "LIFESAVER" system which tracks prople who wander via satellite. All of the above activities are provided by the volunteers free of charge. Bus trips, social activities, luncheons and games are also part of our agenda. That provides area transportation to qualified clients for medical appointments, grocery shopping and necessary items.
Senior Outreach Services (SOS) is a NJ Nonprofit Corporation which seeks to increase the understanding of the impact of aging on both the individual and society, and works for change both social and individual, in order to enhance the participation of the elderly as active members of society.
Shall attempt to identify service needs of the senior community, connect seniors with services currently available and when possibly, provides services directly.
