Description:

As a convenience to Ocean County residents the County Clerk’s Office can assist you in obtaining a United States Passport for foreign travel. The following requirements are essential to obtain a passport:
a. Submit a completed Form DS-11 in person.
b. Submit evidence of U.S. citizenship like a certified Birth Certificate filed within one year of the date of birth, listing both parents and issued by Vital Statistics with a seal. You can submit a Naturalization Certificate or an old Passport as evidence of U.S. citizenship.
c. Present identification such as a valid Driver’s License.
d. One recent professional 2x2 color photograph. You may provide the photographor the photo can be taken at our office for a $10.00 fee.
e. Check or money order payable to US Department of State for $110.00 for Adult Fee and $80.00 for under 16 years old. A separate check, cash, money order or Visa, Discover and MasterCard for the $35.00 County Clerk fee.

U.S. PASSPORT CARD: 732-929-2032
The County Clerk’s Office also assists Ocean County residents interested in obtaining a United State Passport Card. The requirements to obtain a U.S. Passport card are the same as the requirements to secure a U.S. Passport. The Passport Card is only valid for land and sea crossings between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean – Not for travel by air to these destinations.

Vote by Mail-In New Jersey any voter can vote by mail. Voters do not need a reason or excuse to vote by mail. You may apply for a Vote By Mail-In Ballot if you are a qualified registered voter by written application. The application for a Vote by Mail-In Ballot must be received in the mail by the County Clerk 7 days prior to all elections (School, Primary, General, etc.). Voters who miss the mail application deadline or would like to apply for a ballot in person can do so at the County Clerk’s Office, 118 Washington Street, Toms River up to 3:00pm of the day before the election.
VETERAN’S HONORABLE MILITARY DISCHARGE PAPERS (DD-214) RECORDED: 732-929-2018
All Veterans can have their Honorable Military Discharge papers (DD-214) recorded at the County Clerk’s Office, 118 Washington Street, Toms River,The County Connection (Ocean County Mall) Toms River and the Southern Service Center in Manahawkin and receive a free photo Veteran’s Card.
NOTARY PUBLIC - Individuals who wish to become a Notary Public may seek the assistance of the County Clerk during the application process and have the oath of office administered at any of our four locations. The Fee is $15 cash, check or Credit Card – Visa, Discover and MasterCard to administer the oath once you receive your Commission papers from the State of New Jersey. Applicants can apply or renew online at www.njportal.com/dor/notary
TRADE NAMES - (732) 506-5198. All new businesses established in Ocean County must file a Trade Name with the County Clerk. You can record your Trade Name at the County Clerk’s Office, 118 Washington Street, Toms River or the Southern Service Center in Manahawkin. The Fee is $50.00 cash or money order made payable to the Ocean County Clerk’s Office.
