AFDC, Jersey Care, Home Energy Assistance, Welfare - Haskell. Food Stamps are valid for the purchase of food at practically all grocery stores, supermarkets, and butchers. They are distributed to eligible individuals as well as families. Payment for physician’s services, in and out of hospital. Home health care, prescription drugs, eyeglasses, hearing aids, orthopedic devices, dentists, optometrists, chiropractors, and medial supplies, Medicare Premiums and many others. Program pays providers directly. New Jersey Care will not reimburse persons who pay providers. Counsel adults (who have no dependent children) on sources of aid available, assist in obtaining and filing forms for Food Stamps, Home Care, etc. Maintains food bank. Individuals who cannot come to the office may request home visits, translators for non-English speaking clients may be arranged. Eligibility: Age 65+ or disabled and income eligibility required.
